St. Patrick’s Day Ball in Madrid

A fundraising ball in aid of the Williams Syndrome Associations in Ireland and Spain is being held in Madrid on Friday, 18th March 2016. This event is being organised and run by the Spanish Irish Business Network (SIBN) – a network association which aims to foster business links between Ireland and Spain and works closely with the Irish Embassy in Madrid – see information on https://www.facebook.com/SpanishIrishBusinessNetwork?fref=ts.

SIBN has been successfully organising a charity ball on a bi-annual basis with the aim of raising money for chosen charities. In 2012 the monies raised went to Barretstown with the aim of financing summer camps for Spanish patients. In 2014 the monies raised was divided between the Spanish and Irish charities involved in raising money for epidermolysis bullosa (EB) or “butterfly skin” – Debra Ireland and Debra Spain.

The Williams Syndrome Association of Ireland (along with the Williams Syndrome Association in Spain) is very lucky to have been selected as a recipient of the monies to be raised at this year’s ball. This is a huge opportunity for us to raise some much needed funds and, more importantly, to raise the profile of Williams Syndrome in Ireland and Spain. The ball is a high profile event in Madrid and will be attended by the Irish Ambassador to Spain as well as many other dignatories. Tickets for the ball cost €100 each.
